Age Groups and Registration
At Ganiah Waldorf Project, we welcome children ages 2 to 12 into a developmental environment rooted in rhythm, nature, and connection. Our activities are organized into several age groups, allowing children to grow at their own pace while developing meaningful relationships with peers and guides. Each stage of childhood is honored with age-appropriate activities that support the whole child within a communal setting. If you're considering joining our community project in Platanillo, this page will guide you through our various age group offerings and the enrollment process.

Early Childhood Group (2-3)
Our youngest children are welcomed into a gentle, home-like space where warmth, rhythm, and sensory experience guide the day. At this age, development happens through imitation, movement, and play. We focus on nurturing the child’s sense of safety and belonging, with simple songs, nature walks, water play, and plenty of time for free exploration. The environment is calm and loving, with consistent rhythms that help little ones feel secure. Children are supported in developing self-care skills and social awareness within our communal rhythm, in a space where childhood is cherished and protected.

Middle Group (4-6)
Our Middle Group offers an intentional rhythm with expanded activities that meet the growing capacities of children ages 4 to 6. Through storytelling, handwork, painting, seasonal crafts, and nature-based exploration, children begin to develop focus, coordination, and a deeper connection to the world around them. They engage in group projects and imaginative play while learning to care for each other and their environment. This stage supports the development of will and emotional intelligence, providing a holistic foundation through experiential activities. We also offer enriching outings beyond Ganiah to help broaden their sense of wonder and place.

Primary Years Project (7-12)
In this group, children begin to engage with more structured activities, always through the Waldorf lens that integrates head, heart, and hands. Areas such as language exploration, practical mathematics, and nature studies are brought to life through storytelling, movement, music, and hands-on projects.
Children continue to refine their skills in handwork and artistic expression while developing greater responsibility and independent thinking. This stage benefits from a balance of imaginative content and real-world skill-building, with an emphasis on confidence, curiosity, and social harmony. Each day offers opportunities to deepen their experience through meaningful activities both within our dedicated spaces and in the natural surroundings of the jungle.
