Age Groups and Enrollment

At Ganiah Waldorf, we welcome children ages 2 to 10 into a learning environment rooted in rhythm, nature, and connection. Our multi-age classrooms allow children to grow at their own pace while developing meaningful relationships with peers and mentors. Each stage of childhood is honored with developmentally appropriate activities that support the whole child. If you're considering joining our school community in Platanillo, this page will guide you through our age group offerings and how to begin the enrollment process.

Nursery (2-3)

Our youngest children are welcomed into a gentle, home-like space where warmth, rhythm, and sensory experience guide the day. At this age, learning happens through imitation, movement, and play. We focus on nurturing the child’s sense of safety and belonging, with simple songs, nature walks, water play, and lots of time for free exploration. The environment is calm and loving, with consistent rhythms that help little ones feel secure. Children are supported in developing self-care skills and social awareness at their own pace, in a space where childhood is cherished and protected.

Kinder (4-6)

The middle class offers a more intentional rhythm with expanded activities that meet the growing capacities of children ages 4 to 6. Through storytelling, handwork, painting, seasonal crafts, and nature-based exploration, children begin to develop focus, coordination, and a deeper connection to the world around them. They engage in group projects and imaginative play while learning to care for each other and their environment. This stage supports the development of will, emotional intelligence, and foundational academic readiness through experiential learning. We also offer enriching outings beyond the school to help broaden their sense of wonder and place.

Early Grades (7-12)

In the early grades, children begin to awaken to more structured learning, but always through a Waldorf lens that integrates head, heart, and hands. Subjects like language arts, math, and nature studies are brought through story, movement, music, and hands-on activities. Children continue handwork and artistic expression while beginning to take on more responsibility and independent thinking. This group benefits from a balance of imaginative content and real-world skill-building, with an emphasis on developing confidence, curiosity, and social harmony. Each day offers opportunities to deepen learning through meaningful experiences both in and outside the classroom.
